Triumeq is a fixed-dose combination formulation containing three antiretroviral components, namely dolutegravir, abacavir, and lamivudine. It is mainly indicated for the treatment of HIV-1-infected adults and children aged 3 months and above with a body weight of at least 6 kilograms.

What Are the Purchase Channels for Triumeq?

Overseas Purchase

Patients can choose to consult and purchase Triumeq at hospital pharmacies or regular pharmacies in countries or regions where the drug has been marketed.

Since drug prices may be affected by factors such as regional differences and exchange rate fluctuations, patients need to make budget and plans before purchasing.

Purchase via Medical Service Institutions

Patients can consult domestic overseas medical service institutions that cooperate with international pharmacies or pharmaceutical companies.

These institutions can usually provide legal import channels and offer professional consultation and guidance.

Precautions for Purchasing and Using Triumeq

Monitoring Requirements for Patients with Hepatitis B

All patients should be tested for hepatitis B virus before or at the start of Triumeq treatment.

In case of co-infection with HIV-1 and HBV, discontinuation of lamivudine may lead to acute exacerbation of hepatitis B. Close monitoring of liver function is required, and anti-hepatitis B treatment should be initiated if necessary.

Risk of Hepatotoxicity

Regimens containing dolutegravir (such as Triumeq) may cause liver injury, especially in patients with a history of hepatitis B or C. Regular monitoring of liver biochemical indicators is necessary.

Risk of Lactic Acidosis

Nucleoside analogs may induce lactic acidosis and severe hepatic steatosis.

If patients experience unexplained symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or difficulty breathing, they should seek medical attention immediately.

Identification of Authentic Triumeq

Packaging and Appearance Characteristics

Triumeq tablets: Purple, biconvex, oval film-coated tablets, with "572Tri" engraved on one side.

Standard Administration Methods

Tablets should be swallowed whole; they must not be chewed, cut, or crushed.

Granule tablets: Need to be dispersed in drinking water (15mL or 20mL) before oral administration; the whole tablet must not be swallowed directly.

Dosage forms are not interchangeable. Granule tablets are not bioequivalent to regular tablets and cannot be substituted on a milligram-for-milligram basis.

Identification of Illegal Channels

Be alert to channels that sell drugs without a prescription, offer abnormally low prices, have damaged packaging or unclear labels. Resolutely avoid purchasing through irregular channels.

Quality Assurance

The drug should be stored in its original packaging, protected from moisture, with the bottle cap tightly closed.

The storage temperature should be between 20°C and 25°C.
