Amlodipine is a long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, composed of amlodipine besylate monohydrate. It provides a convenient treatment option for patients with hypertension and angina pectoris.
Indications of Amlodipine
Hypertension Treatment
Amlodipine orally disintegrating tablets are indicated for the treatment of all types of hypertension and can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive drugs.
Clinical studies have shown that once-daily administration can effectively maintain 24-hour blood pressure control. In patients with mild to moderate hypertension, it reduces the standing blood pressure by an average of approximately 12/6 mmHg and the supine blood pressure by an average of approximately 13/7 mmHg.
Coronary Heart Disease Treatment
Chronic stable angina pectoris: It is indicated for the long-term symptomatic management of chronic stable angina pectoris and can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other anti-anginal drugs such as nitrates and beta-blockers.
Vasospastic angina pectoris (Prinzmetal's or variant angina pectoris): It has a significant therapeutic effect on confirmed or suspected vasospastic angina pectoris, and restores blood flow by inhibiting coronary artery spasm.
