The typical initial dose for acromegaly is 50 mcg three times daily for the first 2 weeks, with a maintenance dose ranging from 100 mcg to 500 mcg three times daily. For metastatic carcinoid tumors, the recommended initial dose is 100 mcg to 600 mcg daily, divided into two to four doses. In VIPomas, the initial dose should range from 200 mcg to 300 mcg daily, also divided into multiple doses. Regular monitoring of patient response and glucose levels is essential.
