AGAMREE dosing varies by hepatic function and concomitant drug use, with gradual tapering required for discontinuation.
AGAMREE is administered orally once daily with food. The standard dosage is 6 mg/kg (max 300 mg/day) for patients ≥2 years with DMD. For mild-to-moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh A/B), dosage reduces to 2 mg/kg (max 100 mg/day). When co-administered with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., itraconazole), dosage is adjusted to 4 mg/kg (max 200 mg/day). Abrupt discontinuation after >1 week of use is contraindicated; gradual tapering is required to mitigate adrenal insufficiency. Pediatric patients switching from other corticosteroids can transition directly to AGAMREE 6 mg/kg. Suspension preparation involves shaking for 30 seconds, using provided oral syringes, and discarding unused portions after 3 months.
