Precautions

EVISTA is contraindicated in women with active or past history of venous thromboembolism and during pregnancy. An increased risk of death due to stroke was observed in postmenopausal women at high risk for coronary events. Therapy should be discontinued at least 72 hours before and during prolonged immobilization. It should not be used for cardiovascular disease prevention. Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment or moderate to severe renal impairment.
