Amlodipine is a long-acting calcium channel blocker primarily used in the treatment of hypertension and coronary artery diseases such as chronic stable angina and vasospastic angina. As a prescription medication, patients must strictly comply with relevant regulations during the purchase and use process.

How to Purchase Amlodipine

Overseas Purchase

Patients may choose to visit hospital pharmacies or legitimate drugstores in countries or regions where amlodipine is marketed to consult and make purchases.

Since drug prices may be affected by factors such as regional differences and exchange rate fluctuations, patients need to make a budget and plan in advance before purchasing.

Purchase through Medical Service Institutions

Patients can consult domestic overseas medical service institutions that cooperate with international pharmacies or pharmaceutical companies.

These institutions usually provide legal import channels and can offer professional consultation and guidance.

Precautions for Purchasing Amlodipine

Dosage Selection Guidelines

The usual initial oral dosage for the treatment of hypertension in adults is 5 mg once daily, with a maximum dosage of 10 mg once daily.

For small, frail, or elderly patients, as well as patients with hepatic impairment, it is recommended to start with a dosage of 2.5 mg once daily.

Storage Requirements

The medication should be stored at a temperature between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F), with a permissible range of 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F).

It should be kept in a tightly closed, light-resistant container.

Authentication of Amlodipine Authenticity

Verification of Appearance Characteristics

2.5 mg strength: White, round, biconvex tablets, engraved with "ADP2.5" and "ODT".

5 mg strength: Light yellow, round, biconvex tablets, engraved with "ADP5" and "ODT".

10 mg strength: Pink, round, biconvex tablets, engraved with "ADP10" and "ODT".

Inspection of Packaging Integrity

Legitimate product packaging bottles should clearly display the product batch number, manufacturing date, and expiration date.

Different strengths adopt standard packaging: 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg strengths all come in packages of 30 tablets.

Confirmation of Drug Ingredients

In addition to the active ingredient (amlodipine), amlodipine orally disintegrating tablets contain the following inactive ingredients: hydroxypropyl cellulose, iron oxide red (for 10 mg tablets only), iron oxide yellow (for 5 mg tablets only), magnesium stearate, menthol, silicified microcrystalline cellulose, and sucralose.

Note: For internal discussion among medical personnel only. For specific medication, please consult the attending physician. Drug information may change over time. For the latest information, we recommend adding a medical consultant or consulting for free online.
