Life-threatening hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, can occur. Administration should be supervised with appropriate support measures available. Patients should be monitored for lipodystrophy at injection sites and for ectopic calcifications via ophthalmologic and renal exams. The development of anti-drug antibodies may lead to reduced efficacy and disease progression. The drug interferes with laboratory tests that use alkaline phosphatase as a detection reagent.
