Treatment Effectiveness

In clinical trials, ZETIA demonstrated significant lipid-lowering efficacy. As monotherapy, it reduced LDL-C by approximately 18% compared to placebo. When co-administered with various statins, it provided incremental LDL-C reductions of about 25% compared to the statin alone. In patients with homozygous sitosterolemia, ZETIA significantly reduced plasma sitosterol and campesterol levels. The maximal therapeutic response is typically achieved within two weeks of starting treatment.
