Warnings and Monitoring

ZYVOX is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to linezolid or those taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within two weeks of taking them. Weekly monitoring of complete blood counts is advised due to risks of myelosuppression, particularly in patients with renal/hepatic impairment or on extended therapy. Patients should be monitored for serotonin syndrome, visual changes, blood pressure elevation, and symptoms of lactic acidosis. Those with phenylketonuria should be aware the oral suspension contains phenylalanine.
