SYMPROIC is indicated for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation (OIC) in adult patients with chronic non-cancer pain, including those with chronic pain related to previous cancer or its treatment, who do not require frequent (e.g., weekly) opioid dose escalation.

Who can use Symproic(Naldemedine)?

Naldemedine is a peripherally acting μ-opioid receptor antagonist. It reverses the opioid-induced inhibition of intestinal motility by acting on μ-opioid receptors in the gastrointestinal tract, thereby relieving opioid-induced constipation (OIC). Its molecular structure has been optimized to hardly penetrate the blood-brain barrier, thus reducing side effects on the central nervous system, such as interfering with analgesic effects or causing withdrawal symptoms.
