Warnings and Monitoring

Patients should be monitored for sudden drowsiness or falling asleep during activities like driving, which can occur without warning. There is a risk of symptomatic orthostatic hypotension, especially during dose titration. Patients may develop intense, compulsive urges (e.g., gambling, spending). Hallucinations and psychotic-like behaviors are more common in elderly Parkinson's patients. Abrupt withdrawal may lead to symptom worsening or hyperpyrexia.
